Abstract

In this chapter, US states have been particularly aggressive in sharing responsibilities of governance with the federal government. In particular, states have expressed concern and have enacted legislation with respect to the right of privacy and virtual currencies in relation to underlying blockchain technologies. We examine some of the measures taken by numerous states to protect their citizens.
