This study explores the intersection of Islamic finance and crowdfunding or crowdsourcing by conducting a screening methodology on April 2, 2023. The study employs a comprehensive set of keywords and search terms to examine titles, abstracts, and keywords within Scopus, a reputable database of peer-reviewed literature. The period covered is from 1987 and concludes in March 2023, with 218 publications already available online. The finding shows that the recent literature in 2022 focuses on “fintech,” “Islamic finance,” “Islamic crowdfunding,” “Islamic fintech,” and “blockchain,” which represents a shift from the more general topic of “crowdfunding” identified in 2020.
