Xpeng Motors Launches the P7 and the G9

The Chinese brand Xpeng is launching in Germany with the sporty P7 saloon and the G9 SUV. The latter is being offered in a special launch edition.

The Xpeng P7 is 4.90 m long, 1.90 m wide and 1.45 m high. The sports saloon is available with an 86.2 kWh battery and in three different versions: The P7 "Long Range" with rear-wheel drive offers 203 kW (276 hp) of power and a WLTP range of 576 km. The "Performance" and "Performance Wing Edition" versions each come with all-wheel drive and an output of 348 kW (473 PS). Here, the WLTP range is 505 km. DC charging is supported with a maximum of 175 kW, in which case charging from 20 to 80% SoC takes around 25 minutes.

The top-of-the-range G9 model is available with battery capacities of 78.2 and 98 kWh. The 4.90 m long SUV is available as a standard and long-range version with rear-wheel drive as well as a performance version with all-wheel drive and air suspension as standard. They deliver 230 kW (312 hp) with rear-wheel drive and 405 kW (550 hp) with all-wheel drive. The ranges are 460 km, 570 km and 520 km for the AWD Performance. With 300 kW charging power and 800 V technology, the G9 charges from 20 to 80 % in 15 minutes.

Xpeng P7 Starts at Around 50,000 Euros

For the market launch in May 2024, the Chinese are relying on an authorized dealer system. The P7 starts at 49,600 euros for the RWD Long Range version and 58,600 euros for the Performance. The Performance Wing Edition with butterfly doors costs 69,600 euros. Prices for the G9 SUV start at 57,600 euros for the RWD Standard Range version, while the RWD Long Range costs 61,600 euros. The AWD Performance is available from 69,600 euros. The Launch Edition offers the "Premium Package" worth 3,960 euros at no extra charge. The G6 SUV coupé is set to follow in the summer.
