Zusammenfassung

Im Bereich des technologischen Wandels haben die USA seit Mitte des 20. Jahrhundert eine entscheidende Rolle gespielt. Doch dies hat auch zu Herausforderungen geführt. Technologischer Fortschritt und Globalisierung, sowie die neoliberale Wende in der Wirtschaftspolitik seit den 1970er-Jahren führten zu steigender Ungleichheit, einem Verlust an wirtschaftlicher Absicherung und ausbleibende Reformen zu einem Misstrauen gegenüber der etablierten Politik. Um heute der technologischen Entwicklung effektiver zu begegnen, bringt Präsident Joseph Biden nun die größte industriepolitische Wende seit Jahrzehnten auf den Weg. Doch viele Sozial- und Arbeitsmarktreformen sind im politisch polarisierten Umfeld der USA weiter schwer umsetzbar.
