Abstract

The primary objective of this scholarly inquiry is to ascertain the substantive impact of Islamic banking in the realm of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This assessment is conducted within the context of a meticulous case study centered on Bank Al-Salam operating in Algeria. The study’s focal point extends beyond mere financial transactional analysis, aiming to underscore the pronounced role that these endeavors play in galvanizing the larger framework of economic advancement. Furthermore, the research delves into a meticulous dissection of pertinent economic indicators, meticulously extracted from a diverse array of annual reports, thereby constituting the bedrock of the methodological approach pursued.
Conclusively, when looking at the economic role played by Bank Al-Salam, its significant involvement and contribution to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) becomes evident. According to economic literature, these enterprises are considered a primary engine for economic growth, as they contribute to job creation, enhance economic diversity, and stimulate innovation.
By offering financing solutions specifically tailored to meet the needs of these enterprises, Bank Al-Salam reflects a deep commitment to bolstering economic stability and developing the production base of the nation. It is worth noting that financing SMEs is not merely an economic duty but is viewed as a strategic investment that yields long-term returns by enhancing the private sector’s competitiveness and stimulating sustainable economic activity.
From this perspective, one can say that Bank Al-Salam’s modest role in financing SMEs is a vital part of its overall strategy, which aims to strike a balance between achieving profitability and realizing positive economic and social impact.
