The Impact of COVID-19 on US Tech Companies

The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 has had an indelible impact on the global economy. In the face of the challenges posed by the pandemic, it is significant to analyze the impact of the pandemic on the technology industry. This paper mainly discusses the impact of the novel coronavirus on the American technology industry by studying three American technology companies, IBM, Apple and Intel. Mainly divided into the company’s finance, staff and product manufacturing three aspects. After collecting relevant literature, the following conclusions are drawn: The US economy has suffered a severe blow and the technology industry is stagnating. The mental health and computer skills of employees who work from home for long periods of time are challenged. On the product side, disruptions in the global supply chain have slowed production, and while factories are reopening, production difficulties remain. The significance of this study is to find out the difficulties faced by the company in the development of the epidemic, so as to find solutions to the problem.
