Abstract

This study applies the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to elucidate the influencing factors of responsible consumer credit usage behavior in the area of Hanoi, Vietnam. The research utilizes primary data collected through a survey questionnaire. The gathered data is processed using SPSS and Amos software to assess the reliability of the measurement scale, conduct exploratory factor analysis (EFA), perform multivariate regression analysis, and apply the structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings of the study indicate that a supportive attitude toward consumer credit, standards set by parents and friends, and the perception of behavior control positively impact the intention to use consumer credit responsibly. Additionally, a negative attitude toward consumer credit reduces the intention of responsible consumer credit usage among university students. The results also reveal that the intention to use consumer credit responsibly contributes to an increase in responsible consumer credit usage behavior among university students.
