Modeling and analysis of the synchronization process of synchronizer

Abstract

In order to improve the accuracy of shift control, the relationship between dynamic friction process of synchronizer and structural parameters, working condition parameters is studied. Through the theoretical analysis of synchronizer synchronization process, the mathematical model of dynamic synchronization process is established, and the validity is verified by tests. The effects of half-cone angle of synchronous ring, minimum inner diameter of synchronous ring, axial length of synchronous ring, lubricating oil viscosity, shift force and rotational speed difference on synchronization performance are analyzed. The results show that half-cone angle, minimum inner diameter and shift force have great influence on torque and synchronization time. Choosing appropriate half-cone angle, minimum inner diameter and shift force can effectively improve the total friction torque and reduce the synchronization time. Axial length and lubricating oil viscosity have great influence on viscous torque and synchronization time. The increase of axial length and oil viscosity will increase the viscous torque, but the synchronization time will also increase. Rotational speed difference only affects synchronization time. The synchronization time increases with the increase of rotational speed difference.
