In this context, the electrification of vehicles and cars can be regarded as an essential step towards the indemnification of individual mobility needs and the achievement of climate policy objectives at the same time. This is reflected in the German government’s initial goal to realize the amount of one million electric cars on the streets by 2020 and six million by 2030 (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUM), 2014).
