Abstract

The study examines the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the use of technological means in schools, and how it has affected student achievement. The study was quantitative and contained an online survey for students through a Google forum made up of two parts: the first is the use of technological tools before the COVID-19 crisis, and the second part is the impact of the crisis on students and the learning process. The surveys were divided into 40 Arab schools in Israel. The study population included various students, elementary schools, middle school, and high school students. The sample included 400 students. The hypothesis was that distance learning leads to low achievement, because of the new type of learning that students are not used to. The study findings show that there has been a change in schools following the COVID-19 crisis, schools have seen an increase in the use of technological means following the COVID-19 crisis, students have used new tools, and have difficulty using them, the majority agreed that distance learning has affected students' achievements, but the results show that the hypothesis has not been confirmed. The results show an increase in the use of technology in schools, and although the tools are new the achievements have changed and may have improved, the student noted that IT is easy and comfortable to use.
