Zusammenfassung

Das US-amerikanische Gesundheitssystem gehört zu den teuersten und komplexesten der Welt. Gleichzeitig liegt der Abdeckungsgrad der Gesundheitsversorgung in den USA deutlich unter dem anderer entwickelter Wohlfahrtsregime. In diesem Artikel werden in einem ersten Schritt die zentralen Akteure und historischen Entwicklungen der US-amerikanischen Gesundheitspolitik skizziert. Anschließend werden die Zugangschancen zum Gesundheitssektor kritisch analysiert, um so die Defizite der Gesundheitspolitik herauszuarbeiten.
